We are planning to implement ADK Archiving in the BW system.
Before doing this wanted to understand the impact. The main reason we want to do this is because there is data from many years in Infocubes which cannot be deleted due to retention policy and the BW data loads time is very high. Want to be sure that the data load time will be benefited by doing this else it is no point.
So my questions:
1. By ADK archiving does it help in improving data loads?
2. Are there pre requisites for ADK archiving? Is this possible in any SAP BW landscape without extra cost, hardware etc?
3. ADK archiving places the data out of Cubes tables into application server on same database. How does this help in memory space? what can be the space saving ratio?
4. The cubes are already being compressed. Is ADK archiving still possible to be done on compressed data in cubes? Is it possible to delete compressed data which is archived and load it back?
